August 2009 Newsletter

...From Leigh

Someone must have signed me up for the critter of the month club.  The raccoon turned out to be a possum.

Thank you all for your wonderful advice on how to catch a raccoon.  Several people, who weren’t sure what to do about the raccoon, took the time to research it on the internet.  Several of you also sent me some very funny stories about critters, including snakes, that they had found.

I was ready to catch a raccoon, but it was nowhere to be found.  We put the trap out for a week.  We didn’t even catch the cat again.  After the first time she got caught in the trap, she walked way around it like she was scared it might bite her.  Then animal control called and said they wanted the animal trap back.

About a week ago the cat would not stop meowing.  It was definitely like she was trying to tell us something.  Also, she started eating an amazing amount of food for such a little cat.  You guessed it!  We had a possum in our garage.  James saw it in there one night and chased it out with a broom.  We got the trap again.  I baited it with cat food and within a couple of hours we had a possum.  Animal Control came and got it.

Whoever signed me up for critter of the month, I appreciate the gesture, but I would like to cancel my subscription.  I would prefer the fruit of the month club next time.

On a more serious note, the article this month is on second marriages and how property is divided.

This month we are having a seminar on:

Have you ever wondered what would happen to your estate if you did not have the proper estate planning documents in place? Would it all go to the IRS?
What about Probate?  What is Probate and what kind of property is subject to Probate?

at Luby's on August 14th at 11:30.  If you are interested email Tammy at tvaladez@dentonlawyer.com.

                                                 Sincerely

                        Leigh
