"It's a Wonderful Life"

On the evening of November 13th, we are going to be having a movie event at Good Samaritan-Denton Village.  We are going to be showing "It's a Wonderful Life". (We will send out more details later). This movie reminds us the importance of counting our blessings and taking nothing for granted and how we influence other people's lives without even realizing it. When we take time to think about these things, we realize it is a wonderful life.

Life goes by so quickly.  I have been told by lots of people that the boys will be grown up before I know it.  I have believed it, but time still flies.  Brad went on his first Boy Scouts' campout.  James had to convince me he was old enough to go without a parent.  Of course, Brad had a wonderful time.  He looked more grown up when he came home.  I guess I started looking at him in a different light.  I am trying to make the most of the time.

This months article is on "Avoiding the Scary Side of Healthcare."  If you were taken to the hospital unconscious how would the emergency personnel know who they were authorized to talk to under the privacy laws, who you wanted to make healthcare decisions for you and whether you want life support.  I provide my clients with a document emergency card that gives emergency room personnel access to the healthcare power of attorney, directive to physicians and privacy authorization.
