I got taught a valuable lesson this weekend.  Don't leave your valuables in the car.  We went to San Antonio and our car got broken into.  Our car was way too profitable for the thieves.  We used to be a lot more careful, but we have never had anything stolen before now.  I will go back to cleaning out my purse of things we won't need on the trip and taking all valuables up to the hotel room.  We have had a DVD player in the car for the last 8 years.  When we first got it, we were always very careful to conceal them or take them with us, but we got complacent.  They got my purse, so we are purchasing identity theft insurance from Farmers Insurance, where James works.

Brad and Matthew had to travel home the old fashioned way of having to figure out how to entertain themselves in the back seat.  I was impressed by how well they did in the car for 5 hours.  They used their imaginations and came up with a lot of interesting games. 

This made me think about the importance of having healthcare documents in place before they are needed.  Just like insurance we hope we won't need them, but we would be really sorry if they aren't there when we needed them.  Better safe than sorry.
